Private Baby Scans (Pregnancy Scans) including 3D and 4D Scans

Private baby scans are available at our clinics in Manchester, Stockport, Cheshire and North Wales. These include Early Dating Scan, Nuchal Translucency screening, 3D and 4D scans, baby sexing scans and growth and fetal anomaly scans.

Every baby scan is performed by an experienced and UK qualified Advanced Ultrasound Practitioner (sonographer) who will be pleased to talk you through the procedure and explain what can be seen. All our sonographers are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)

So why have a private baby scan?

Firstly, some of the examinations listed may not be available through the National Health Service (NHS) in your area. It can also be more convenient to attend a private appointment where you have more choice about the time and date of your baby scan or you may have concerns about your baby’s health and don’t want to wait for your hospital appointment. Ultrasound is a non-invasive method of screening for fetal abnormalities and complications during pregnancy.

Uses of ultrasound during pregnancy

  • 4D Baby Scans
  • Early Dating Scan (7 – 12 weeks)
  • Nuchal translucency Scan (11 – 14 weeks)
  • Detailed Fetal anatomy Scan (17 – 26 weeks)
  • Reassurance, Growth & Sexing Scan (17 weeks +)

In addition and unlike some other European countries, you will usually only receive two baby scans through the NHS namely an early dating scan at approximately 12 weeks gestation and an anomaly scan at approximately 20 weeks gestation unless there is clinical concern about you or your baby. Having additional scans later in pregnancy can give valuable re-assurance that everything appears normal and also give a guide as to how big your baby may be and the position it is in prior to delivery.

We produce a Pregnancy Progress Report for every scan we perform which is yours to keep together with a selection of images and the scan can also be recorded onto CD or DVD if required (see scan details).

You are welcome to bring friends and family to share the experience.
