Ultrasound Now is a trading name of Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd. Established in 2004 and based in Manchester, Diagnostic Healthcare has expanded rapidly to become one of the leading medical imaging providers to both the NHS and private patients. The company is now one of the largest privately owned providers of healthcare services in the North West of England specialising in Ultrasound, Health Screening, Bone Density, and MRI examinations.

Dr Jonathan Tuck

MB ChB FRCR

Dr Tuck Graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1980 and initially undertook surgical training before opting to change specialty to Radiology in 1986. He trained in Radiology in Manchester, obtaining FRCR in 1989.

Dr Tuck also spent a year’s Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at University of Maryland in Baltimore, USA between 1991 and 1992, before returning to Manchester to complete radiology training.

He was appointed Consultant Radiologist to Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust in November 1993 till January 2004 and is currently Consultant Radiologist at University Hospitals South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (Wythenshawe Hospital) since January 2004.

Special interests include radiology of the genito-urinary tract, gynaecologic radiology, interventional radiology, especially radiological treatment of fibroids, and some aspects of cancer radiology.

He has worked in association with Diagnostic Healthcare UK since its foundation, both in a reporting and advisory capacity.

Jane Sweeney, Director of Operations. 

Jane started her career in Banking and has also been the sales and marketing director for an industrial company, Operations Director for a children’s nursery chain and the owner of training/ management consultancy company.

She joined DHC in February 2016 as Director of Operations. Her team provides the very best patient care, by ensuring the right people are in the right place with the right resources to complete a smooth clinic, delivering high-quality care in a calm and professional environment.

Jane is also responsible for Recruitment, team liaison, rota communication, clinic management, Report distribution, Machine and equipment purchase, delivery and maintenance, PACS management, client liaison and she acts as a representative of DHC from a sales and marketing perspective.

Eimar Robinson, Lead Sonographer for North West, General Medical Ultrasound

Eimar began her ultrasound career in 2004 and was lucky to be the first sonographer in the department to train in Musculoskeletal ultrasound.  She joined DHC as lead sonographer for the North West region in June 2017.

Her primary role now is performing ultrasound scans in the primary care and hospital setting as well as supporting DHC sonographers with training, audits, education and second opinions. She also presents to GPs at their educational days in South Cheshire, giving her a platform to take part in shared learning between professions.

Sameera Dhan, Lead Sonographer, Obstetric

Sameera has been a sonographer for 11 years. Having studied and trained in South Africa, she has now been working in the UK for 8 years.

She joined DHC in 2013, as the Screening Support Sonographer for Ultrasound Now and then became the Obstetric Lead Sonographer in 2017.  Her current role is to help ensure that the obstetric ultrasound service is carried out in line with national guidelines and that a high clinical standard is maintained whilst delivering the best possible patient care. She is involved in the recruitment and clinical competency assessment of new team members to ensure that their work ethic and practice is line with the organisation’s ethos.

Anna Risi and her hard-working team of administrators support our clinical teams, patients, referring clinicians and all our clinic locations. Information Technology plays a vital role in delivering efficient services so the Patient Management Team use one of the most advanced patient management systems available. Regularly reviewed security systems ensure all data is recorded correctly and held securely in accordance with the latest guidelines and legislation.

Our helplines are open between 8am and 5:30pm and you can be assured that whoever takes your call will be able to advise or help with any query about the Ultrasound services available in the strictest confidence. At busy times of the day or out of normal office hours we also host an answering service with the aim of returning calls within 1 hour.

Les Samuels, Lead Sonographer for Essex and Norfolk

Les has been a sonographer in the NHS for over 20 years, becoming Lead Sonographer in charge of a small specialised ultrasound department. He has since worked in the private sector for over 8 years as a Lead Sonographer for imaging companies.

He joined DHC in November 2017 as the Regional Lead Sonographer for the Essex and Norfolk services. He leads a small team of staff at the company’s Colchester clinic and undertakes sessions within the NHS in Norfolk. He is responsible for the sonographers and imaging assistants within the Essex and Norfolk regions and also help in assessing staff for other areas where the company provides ultrasound services.

Karen Wilson, Lead Sonographer for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Nottingham and Lincolnshire area.

Karen’s first role as a Sonographer was at Peterborough Hospital. In 2008 Karen – and several colleagues – set up Excell Ultrasound Limited, “providing Ultrasound in the community”. In 2016  Excell became part of Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd, and Karen is now the Lead Sonographer for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Nottingham and Lincolnshire within DHC

A lot of the time is spent providing ultrasound clinics in the community, plus audit and clinical governance as well as being the line manager for the sonographers  working within those areas, liaising with Operations on equipment requirements and generally anything which helps the clinics to run smoothly and efficiently.

Karen is also the Cauldicott Guardian for DHC, which involves ensuring that the personal information about those who use DHC services is used legally, ethically and appropriately, and that confidentiality is maintained.

Kieran Trust, Patient Services Assistant Manager

Kieran has previously worked in pensions and Financial services in administration . He then

joined DHC in July 2016 as a patient services co coordinator. He then became MRI Lead and ultimately, the Assistant Manager of Patient Services.

This role entails the smooth running of the patient services team, supporting the patient services manager. The job includes a lot of auditing work, triaging patient scans, and vital back-office administration. Lastly, Kieran liaises with patients and surgeries to solve any issues that may arise.
